Fun & Education

Health and Safety does NOT have to be boring.
We can plan an event that is fun, informative, educational and that provides hands on skills training and confidence building to help you and your group provide high quality CPR AED and First Aid, or BLS (Basic Life Support).

Some fun suggestions: 
  • A pot lock during class​
  • On site catering from a local restaurant 
  • Bring your knitting or crochet to work on while watching the videos.
  • Run CPR or First Aid drills
  • Play out some fun scenes to reinforce your rescue skills. 
  • Build your own First Aid Kits!  
  • Trade or learn some First Aid tips and tricks using essential oils and other holistic options.

Friends, Family & Community Members

Learn how you can help a family member, friend or community member in a medical emergency?

Are you looking to gain more knowledge and hands on skills to better serve your community?

Is someone you love at risk of medical emergencies?

With the Friends & Family training, you can learn vital hands on skills.and practical knowledge to increase the chance of survival. 
This class does not provide a certification card but will provide a certification of participation and help you build your knowledge and confidence.  

We can make the class short and to the point, or more family friendly including age appropriate training, games and confidence building activities.

HOW IS THE GROUP RATE OR EVENT RATE DETERMINED?
Group rates are based on:
  • Class location? Our location, a rented location or your location..
  • Travel & travel expenses
  • The type of event and the costs involved such as catering, prizes and additional instructors or staff needed.  
  • How many people will be attending
  • Certification required: Do you need an official certification per student (costs is more) or would you like a certification of participation.per student (costs is less)
  • Will Mystic Lotus do most of the leg work for your event as well as providing the training? 
Are the Health and Safety events or trainings kid friendly or pet friendly? 
They can be. We love all ages to learn valuable life saving skills! 
We love pets! 
How it works: 
  • Depends on what you want and need
  • Where the event will be held
  • What kind of event you want
  • Who you want as your audience
  • How long you want the event
  • Etc.  
Things to consider:
  • Do you want each person to receive an official certification? If yes. Attention needs to be 100% on the training. Each person much comprehends the information and demonstrate the required skills to pass and receive their certification. 
  • If you do not need an official certification, the questions might be: How well do you want to learn and retain the information? Who do you want to learn? Why do you want to learn, just for fun, or for real life application? 
  • We can split lessons up by groups, etc: adults only, teens only and then the teens and adults teaching the younger kids. The combinations are vasts so I wont list all possibilities here. Use your imagination or better yet, contact me for a consultation. 
  • Are service animals allowed: YES! Trained and certified service animals are allowed everywhere. Medical Assistance animals are in kind of a gray area and may be site specific so check with the laws and policies where you are wanting to host the events.

Our location: 305 High ST SE, Bldg A, in Pringle Park Plaza, Salem OR. 
  • We are located up the stairs between Gamberretis and Oregon Crepe. 
  • Our classroom holds up to 25 people comfortably. 
  • We have a sofa, comfortable charis (8) and several folding chairs. 
  • We can provide tables if needed.
  • We have a small kitchenette with a small sink and mini fridge, a microwave, coffee pot & coffee, tea kettle and tea. 
  • We have one restroom that is ADA approved, however as we are located up stairs, we may not be wheelchair accessible. 
  • We can provide some ADA accommodations such as a table for practicing CPR for those who cannot kneel to the floor. 

Your Location: What do I need to know if I want to book the event at our location? 
  • You must have enough space and resources to accommodate the size and type of event   
  • There must be an onsite restroom and ADA accommodations to meet the needs of attendees. 
  • Travel fees may apply if your location is over 10 miles from Salem, OR. 

Another Location: What if we want to have the event at another location inside or outside? Is this possible? If so, what do we need to know? 
  • Some locations charge rental fee's and other fee's. 
  • Find out about parking.
  • If you want catering, some locations only allow their own catering so make sure that is what you want and meets your budget. 
  • Some locations require booking far in advance.
  • Contact each location for booking details, costs and restrictions. 
  • Some locations such as parks may be free or more affordable but may also require a permit. Check with your local parks and rec offices, your local churches, schools or site that you are considering before scheduling an event. 
Can Mystic Lotus do all of the leg work for us? Such as booking a location, catering and so on? 
  • Yes! Event planning fee's will be charged in addition to the Health & Safety training. 
  • We love to create an opportunity for you and your team or group to learn in a fun and productive way and to help you increase your life saving skills and knowledge. 

WHAT FUN CAN BE HAD? 
EVENT AND ACTIVITY IDEAS

  • INDOOR AND OUTDOOR EVENTS 
  • Early morning, midday, evening or late evenings events are available. 
  • Weekdays and Weekends are available!
  • Add CPR AED and First Aid to your conference as a breakout session, main event or a morning kickstarter. 
  • Add CPR AED and First Aid to your annual team building events. 
  • Design an event that has health and safety as a focus, or as valuable addition to your various trainings or activities. 
  • Short and to the point: Training as usual. Packed with quality information in a timely manor.
  • Events for specific age groups: Children, Teens, young adults, and so on. 
  • Events for familys
  • Church staff and or members
  • Clubs, groups and programs. 
  • Create drills specific to your location: workplace, school, club, church, home, etc. Would you know how to handle an emergency in your location or neighborhood?
  • Animal CPR and First Aid: What about your furry loved ones? What about your service animals, medical companion animals? How can you help them in an emergency. 
  • Add prevention tips and planning to your events or training!
